Job Description

We are looking for a talented and passionate Senior Social Video Editor to join the video team in Social Chain’s publishing division in Manchester. 

 Reporting to our Head of Creative, you will be part of an exciting, fast-paced environment helping to shape our social video content across our portfolio of publishing brands including SPORF, GameByte & Student Problems.

 You will be responsible for managing a team of content executives, working with the brand teams to help build our social video strategy and create new and exciting social-first formats.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the social video quality and output across all of our brands and inputting processes to build on this.
  • Reporting on video metrics, maintaining KPIs and facilitating growth in social video on Social Chain’s publishing brands.
  • Editing social videos to a high standard and setting the standard for other members of staff.
  • Oversee the social video sub team, making recommendations for the development and growth of the team. 
  • Provide training for junior staff in using Adobe software and on social media trends/behaviour.
  • Working with the brand teams to ideate & create new, social video series.
  • Work with our commercial clients to deliver social video solutions to their briefs. 
  • Designing and creating branding and motion graphics for social video content.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proficient video editing skills and good technical knowledge of Adobe software, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop & After Effects.
  • Experience of working on large social media accounts.
  • A strong knowledge of a number of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube and TikTok.
  • An in-depth understanding of social media trends and user behaviour.
  • A passion for storytelling. 
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Previous experience of managing a team and supporting junior staff.
