Job Description

Social Chain Media creates reactive social-first content for millions of our followers every day, using the latest technology to drive strategy and the right minds to inspire creativity.

As Licensing Manager, you will be working across our portfolio of brands such as Student Problems, Love Food, GameByte, and much more. You will be responsible for securing the best user-generated content across the web enhancing our content offering. In addition, you will be responsible for building/maintaining relationships with creators relevant to our brands and license their content for use across our portfolio.

Your success will come from being a team player, utilising your strong communication skills and initiative to enhance the team capability in identifying and securing new and exciting content for our audiences.

Candidate Requirements

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Developing relationships with creators in the space to set up revenue-share 
  • Developing relationships with licensing companies to set up rev-share deals 
  • Reaching out and acquiring licenses to content to use across our channels 
  • Tracking and reporting on revenue-share deals 
  • Liaising with the brand teams to understand and cater to their needs 
  • Work closely with your associated brands to come up with ways to innovate and streamline current processes.
  • Own the sourcing targets; take responsibility for when these are not met and raise this with the teams. 
  • To work independently on commercial projects, delivering client campaigns consistently well. 
  • Deliver post-campaign analysis reports to the senior manager & projects team. Notifying of any learnings that we can take forward from the campaign. 
  • Actively increase campaign revenue; working with projects & senior managers to further productise this.
  • Work on new ways to acquire content; building the submissions process. 
  • Significantly increase the number of videos that Social Chain Media exclusively owns the distribution rights to. 
  • Build a strong working relationship with the commercial team, meeting semi-regularly to proactively pitched licensed content for campaigns. 
  • Offer regular ideas on how to improve the customer journey with Social Chain Media, as well as how we can better serve our in-house brands.
  • Serve your assigned brand with 360 service including:
    • Sourcing
    • Acquisitions (with emphasis on exclusive where applicable)
    • Rev-share negotiations
    • Customer services
    • infringement takedowns

  • Have a head for figures. You will need to be able to interpret trend data and make decisions based on your findings.
